Since 2009, a group of grandmothers in the Texas Hill Country has been hand-sewing personalized Christmas stockings so every child feels remembered.
Grandmas’ Stocking Guild was formed in 2009 to help abused and neglected children in the Texas Hill Country. It began with 60 stockings for New Life in Canyon Lake — a simple idea from a group of grandmothers who wanted every child to feel remembered on Christmas morning.
The Guild became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in December 2014. Today, we hand-sew nearly 1,800 stockings each year for youth across Central Texas.
Each stocking carries a “Made with Love by Grandma” label on the back, a cross on the front, and the child’s name embroidered on the cuff. It is theirs forever.
